YACSO Foundation was born from the success and growing impact of the Yemipoet Poetry Contest, a youth-focused literary initiative dedicated to promoting creativity, self-expression, and social engagement through poetry.

Over the past two years, the Yemipoet Poetry Contest has consistently provided a platform for emerging writers and spoken word artists across Nigeria, attracting between 150 and 650 entries monthly and engaging thousands of young creatives nationwide. What began as a poetry competition has evolved into a broader movement for youth development, education, and creative empowerment under the banner of YACSO Foundation.

Our journey is driven by the belief that every young person has the potential to create positive change when given the opportunity, platform, and support to express themselves.

Through poetry contests, workshops, mentorship opportunities, and community outreach programmes, we have impacted countless young people across diverse communities, inspiring creativity, building confidence, and fostering a culture of learning, leadership, and civic engagement. Today, YACSO Foundation continues to use the arts as a tool for education, empowerment, and social transformation.
