About us

Yemipoet Creation is the registered name for Yemipoet contest, a creative platform that organizes contests, promotes emerging talents, and envisions a future in publishing.

Yemipoet fosters creativity and connection among poets in Nigeria. Through monthly themed competitions, each drawing over 200 entries from poets. These themes often align with cultural, spiritual, and real-life issues, as well as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including gender equality, zero hunger, climate action, and social justice. The top three winners are awarded cash prizes, cultivating a competitive yet supportive community.

More than a platform, the Yemipoet Contest has given birth to the Yacso Foundation, a nonprofit organization that oversees the Yemipoet Contest. The Yacso Foundation champions school/community outreaches to foster self-expression and mental health, teaching poetry and storytelling, and inspiring social change. At its heart lies the Yemigoldentouch Initiative, our partner NGO dedicated to creating real-world impact through targeted outreach aligned with Sustainable Development Goals 2 and 4, specifically Zero Hunger and Quality Education.

Whether you’re here to read, perform, or create change, I welcome you into my world of rhythm and responsibility.

#Yemipoet #PoetryAnthology #ComfortZone #TheNightIStoppedApologizing #yacsofoundationTop 10 Poets will be announced on Monday!

Whether you make the Top 10 or not, remember that you've already won something valuable, an identity poem.

This contest gave you the opportunity to pause, reflect, and capture who you are in words. Keep that poem. Revisit it. Watch how your story unfolds.

Embrace who you are, grow where you need to, and never stop becoming.

Every poet should have an identity poem.

#yemipoet #yacsofoundation #poetrycontest #whoami #acrosticpoem161 entries. 161 stories. 161 identities captured in poetry.

Thank you for joining the Yemipoet June Poetry Contest and for courageously sharing who you are.

This contest was more than a competition, it was a gentle invitation for every poet to create an acrostic poem of their identity.

Some poems were declarations of who they are becoming. Some were prophecies of the future they believe in. Some told real-life stories, while others reflected battles fought and won. For some, the poems captured their current realities and circumstances.

Whatever form your poem took, keep it. Revisit it often.

Years from now, some of your declarations may have become reality. Some prophecies may have unfolded. Some struggles may have turned into testimonies. Some situations may have completely changed.

Keep writing. Keep becoming. Keep remembering who you are.
