About us

Yemipoet is a vibrant and creative Instagram platform dedicated to the art of poetry. Founded and curated by Opeyemi Moses, Yemipoet fosters creativity and connection among poets in Nigeria and beyond, providing a dynamic space where poetic talents can shine and gain recognition.

Through monthly themed competitions—each drawing over 200 entries poets are encouraged to explore deep, meaningful topics. These themes often align with cultural, spiritual, and real-life issues and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including gender equality, zero hunger, climate action, and social justice. The top three winners are awarded cash prizes, cultivating a competitive yet supportive community.

More than a platform, Yemipoet is a movement: transforming poetry into a tool for awareness, inclusion, and social change. From creation to inclusion, Yemipoet uses the power of words to inspire, educate, and ignite action. With every poem shared, Yemipoet nurtures a space where voices are heard, stories are valued, and change begins—one verse at a time.
