<blockquote>Ever gone to bed hungry and woken up the same way, with no hope of food? If yes, you know how helpless and terrible that feeling is, right?</blockquote>In 2023, FAO gave an estimate of 690 million people worldwide suffering from hunger. A large portion of them are recognized as children.&nbsp;The month of May holds several globally recognized days, one of which is World Hunger Day.&nbsp;To raise awareness about WHD, Yemipoet challenged her audience to raise their voices through poetry to fight against Hunger, not just as a contest, but to the end, so that Zero Hunger becomes a reality in the hearts of everyone. No child and no one deserves to face hunger.&nbsp;The contest instructions were clear and straightforward for any poet to hop on: “Use your voice to fight hunger and demand Zero Hunger. Write an original 6-line poem that sparks change.”<h3>Submission Link and Deadline IG Handle: @yemipoet</h3>Poets were instructed to submit their poems as comments under the May Poetry Contest flyer post on Instagram.&nbsp;The contest was officially announced on May 1, with the submission deadline set for May 6. May ’25 Poetry Contest — Hunger: No One's Friend, Rather Everyone's Fight

<blockquote>Have you ever seen an image that instantly pulls you into a world where words come alive?</blockquote> This April, we slightly shifted away from our usual themed contests and embraced something fun and profound—visual poetry—inviting participants to unlock a new level of creativity through a picture prompt. As expected, many of our participants did a remarkable job showcasing their artistic creativity—not only through thoughtful interpretation but also through their ability to craft evocative words inspired solely by what their eyes saw and their hearts felt. Come with me, let's walk you through a detailed journey in April. The contest was officially announced on April 1st, with the submission deadline set for April 9th. Submission Criteria Our submission criteria were basic and nothing out of the ordinary. We simply asked that each poem contain no more than four lines per stanza, with a total of three stanzas overall. The criteria served their intended purpose; not only did they allow focus and conciseness, but within those limits, they also left room for creative expression. Evaluation Criteria Our evaluation process was guided by clear and easy-to-apply standards. We considered each entry based on originality, picture prompt interpretation, expression clarity, creativity, imagery, language, structure and emotional impact. This helped us maintain fairness while recognizing and respecting each poet's voice. April ’25 Poetry Contest: The Muse of Sight

We were more like, if you are a poet, then show us who you say you are through lines and stanzasTrust our poets; they gracefully stepped into the spotlight and revealed their identity through verses that reeked of boldness, identity and a class of creativity that left us speechless.&nbsp;Through their poems, they showed us who they are, not just in name, but in essence.&nbsp;SUBMISSION CRITERIA The submission of entries was received through the platform's official website, www.yemipoetproduction.com, as always indicated in the bio.&nbsp;With each entry instructed to be no more than 3 stanzas, 15 lines only, the contest commenced on 1st March. By the end of the submission deadline fixed for March 9th, we received a record of 226 poems for the month. &nbsp;EVALUATION CRITERIAWe evaluated the poems by reviewing theme engagement, creativity, use of imagery and symbolism, language and structure.&nbsp;Initially, we came up with our top 30 poets after the first level of evaluation. MARCH 2025 POETRY CONTEST

<blockquote>THEME: ADVOCATING A WORLD OF LOVE&nbsp;</blockquote>Beyond our usual themed monthly written contest, YemiPoet Creation delved into POETSING: a collaboration of spoken word and singing contests. This creativity was inspired by the celebration of St. Valentine's Day. Across the globe, Valentine’s Day is recognised as the day to express love between families, lovers, friends, business associates and much more.&nbsp; However, at YemiPoet, the message for the month centred on portraying Love Beyond a Day, especially in a world where the differences in human perspective, thought, evolution, choice and decisions affect, causing division. We aimed for creative expressions that herald and showcase love as the medicine to healing divisions, promoting unity and building a better world where lives and communities can transform and co-exist.&nbsp;The Contest instructions by the Founder were simple, essential and straightforward. This was accomplished, allowing poets to project duet presentations of spoken word and song to bring out the Art in poetry and also encourage their inclusivity and creativity without boundaries, as well as recognising and rewarding poets whose works were outstanding&nbsp;Moral LessonThe reality and understanding of Love is what bridges the gap between us as Humans. February Contest Instructions by Yemipoet – Duet Challenge Made Simple!

<blockquote>THEME: CHARIOTS, HORSES AND THE NAME OF THE LORD&nbsp;</blockquote>Inspired by Psalms 20:7-8;“ ⁷ Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.⁸ They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright.”—KJV&nbsp; The theme, possessing a reverent tone was selected, allowing each poet to explore the depth and symbolism it breathes. The theme rolls out its layer of optimism, strength, authority and introspection, piquing and bracing each poet for what's to come in the New Year and evoking thoughtful personalized questions such as ‘Who will be trusted if the smooth sailing tide changes and the boat starts to capsize or whose power will be acknowledged to run a smooth year without hiccups? The Chariots or the Name of the Lord?“ in the heart of each poet.&nbsp;SUBMISSION CRITERIA The submission of entries was received through the platform's official website <a data-mce-href="http://www.yemipoetproduction.com" href="http://www.yemipoetproduction.com">www.yemipoetproduction.com</a> always indicated in the bio.&nbsp;With each entry instructed to be no more than 3 stanzas, 12 lines only, the contest kickstarted on January 1st and had its submission deadline on January 8th, leaving us a record of 341 submitted poems, however, we realized some poets made double submissions, making the accurate number of poems received 237 (in written forms only).EVALUATION CRITERIA<span style="font-style: var(--body-fontStyle, normal); background-color: rgba(249,250,251,var(--tw-bg-opacity));" data-mce-style="font-style: var(--body-fontStyle, normal); background-color: rgba(249,250,251,var(--tw-bg-opacity));">The evaluati<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: calc(18px * var(--body-fontSize, 1)); font-weight: inherit; font-style: var(--body-fontStyle, normal); background-color: rgba(249,250,251,var(--tw-bg-opacity));" data-mce-style="font-family: inherit; font-size: calc(18px * var(--body-fontSize, 1)); font-weight: inherit; font-style: var(--body-fontStyle, normal); background-color: rgba(249,250,251,var(--tw-bg-opacity));">on procedure was in four segments.&nbsp;● &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Theme: Horses and Chariots (30%)&nbsp;How the concept of horses and chariots was integrated and the symbolism it portrayed.● &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Theme: The Name of the Lord (40%)If the name of the Lord was a central theme engaged and what it depicted.&nbsp;● &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Creativity and Imagery: Vividity, originality, and emotional and visual impact were weighed.&nbsp;● &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Language and structure: Poetic sound and scheme visibility.&nbsp;It was discovered that 20% of entries scored less than 50% for writing more or less than 3 stanzas while others did not focus on the theme.
