About us

Yemipoet Creation is the registered name for Yemipoet contest, a creative platform that organizes contests, promotes emerging talents, and envisions a future in publishing.

Yemipoet fosters creativity and connection among poets in Nigeria. Through monthly themed competitions, each drawing over 200 entries from poets. These themes often align with cultural, spiritual, and real-life issues, as well as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including gender equality, zero hunger, climate action, and social justice. The top three winners are awarded cash prizes, cultivating a competitive yet supportive community.

More than a platform, the Yemipoet Contest has given birth to the Yacso Foundation, a nonprofit organization that oversees the Yemipoet Contest. The Yacso Foundation champions school/community outreaches to foster self-expression and mental health, teaching poetry and storytelling, and inspiring social change. At its heart lies the Yemigoldentouch Initiative, our partner NGO dedicated to creating real-world impact through targeted outreach aligned with Sustainable Development Goals 2 and 4, specifically Zero Hunger and Quality Education.

#yacsofoundation #PoetryContest #NaijaSpiritMustNotDie #PoetryCommunity #yemipoetIn October, our poetry contest themed “Reflection of Hope” invited us to look beyond present circumstances into the promise of a greater future. Inspired by the image of a poor boy staring into a mirror and seeing his fulfilled self, we were reminded that dreams, faith, and perseverance can reshape destiny.

Through heartfelt lines and vivid imagery, your poems captured hope rising from hardship, visions formed in poverty, and the quiet courage it takes to believe in a better tomorrow. They showed us that where we stand today does not limit where we are going.

Thank you for writing with depth, imagination, and purpose.

To appreciate your engagement, 3 poets selected from our October entries will receive ₦1500 airtime each:
