This month’s contest was opened with a stirring theme that challenged every poet to dig deep: “Comfort Zone.” The contest was born from a place of reflection and growth. In the founder's Word, she shared:&nbsp;<h3>"In my little experience, I’ve had to step beyond what felt safe. Some call it risk; I call it faith. Because He that is in me is greater than he that is in the world."</h3>— Founder, Mrs Opeyemi MosesFew people have stayed in their comfort zone for too long, only to realise they have the inner strength to do what they have been running from all along.&nbsp;Comfort zones feel safe, but they often mask true potential. It is safe to say there is no iota of discomfort in comfort zones. However, operating from such a mindset quietly hinders growth and blurs the visibility of what anyone can become. This perfectly explains why the theme was selected. Everyone needs to step out of their places of comfort.&nbsp;The contest was officially announced on June 1, 2025, with the submission deadline fixed for June 9, 2025. Within that time frame, YemiPoet received a total of 310 poems from participants across various countries, states, age groups, and backgrounds.Submission link&nbsp; All submission entries were received via the platform’s official website — www.yemipoetproduction.com — as stated in the bio of the Instagram page, @yemipoet.Evaluation Criteria The evaluation process remained consistent.&nbsp;Each entry was assessed based on originality, accurate interpretation of the theme, clarity of expression, creativity, use of imagery, language, structure, emotional impact, appropriate titling, adherence to deadlines, and other publicly announced criteria. June ’25 Poetry Contest — Comfort Zone: A Place You Should Not Be Found

<blockquote>Ever gone to bed hungry and woken up the same way, with no hope of food? If yes, you know how helpless and terrible that feeling is, right?</blockquote>In 2023, FAO gave an estimate of 690 million people worldwide suffering from hunger. A large portion of them are recognized as children.&nbsp;The month of May holds several globally recognized days, one of which is World Hunger Day.&nbsp;To raise awareness about WHD, Yemipoet challenged her audience to raise their voices through poetry to fight against Hunger, not just as a contest, but to the end, so that Zero Hunger becomes a reality in the hearts of everyone. No child and no one deserves to face hunger.&nbsp;The contest instructions were clear and straightforward for any poet to hop on: “Use your voice to fight hunger and demand Zero Hunger. Write an original 6-line poem that sparks change.”<h3>Submission Link and Deadline IG Handle: @yemipoet</h3>Poets were instructed to submit their poems as comments under the May Poetry Contest flyer post on Instagram.&nbsp;The contest was officially announced on May 1, with the submission deadline set for May 6. May ’25 Poetry Contest — Hunger: No One's Friend, Rather Everyone's Fight

<blockquote>Have you ever seen an image that instantly pulls you into a world where words come alive?</blockquote> This April, we slightly shifted away from our usual themed contests and embraced something fun and profound—visual poetry—inviting participants to unlock a new level of creativity through a picture prompt. As expected, many of our participants did a remarkable job showcasing their artistic creativity—not only through thoughtful interpretation but also through their ability to craft evocative words inspired solely by what their eyes saw and their hearts felt. Come with me, let's walk you through a detailed journey in April. The contest was officially announced on April 1st, with the submission deadline set for April 9th. We simply asked that each poem contain no more than four lines per stanza, with a total of three stanzas overall. The criteria served their intended purpose; not only did they allow focus and conciseness, but within those limits, they also left room for creative expression. Evaluation Criteria Our evaluation process was guided by clear and easy-to-apply standards. We considered each entry based on originality, picture prompt interpretation, expression clarity, creativity, imagery, language, structure and emotional impact. This helped us maintain fairness while recognizing and respecting each poet's voice. April ’25 Poetry Contest: The Muse of Sight

We were more like, if you are a poet, then show us who you say you are through lines and stanzasTrust our poets; they gracefully stepped into the spotlight and revealed their identity through verses that reeked of boldness, identity and a class of creativity that left us speechless.&nbsp;Through their poems, they showed us who they are, not just in name, but in essence.&nbsp;SUBMISSION CRITERIA The submission of entries was received through the platform's official website, www.yemipoetproduction.com, as always indicated in the bio.&nbsp;With each entry instructed to be no more than 3 stanzas, 15 lines only, the contest commenced on 1st March. By the end of the submission deadline fixed for March 9th, we received a record of 226 poems for the month. &nbsp;EVALUATION CRITERIAWe evaluated the poems by reviewing theme engagement, creativity, use of imagery and symbolism, language and structure.&nbsp;Initially, we came up with our top 30 poets after the first level of evaluation. <blockquote>THEME: ADVOCATING A WORLD OF LOVE&nbsp;</blockquote>Beyond our usual themed monthly written contest, YemiPoet Creation delved into POETSING: a collaboration of spoken word and singing contests. This creativity was inspired by the celebration of St. Valentine's Day. Across the globe, Valentine’s Day is recognised as the day to express love between families, lovers, friends, business associates and much more.&nbsp; However, at YemiPoet, the message for the month centred on portraying Love Beyond a Day, especially in a world where the differences in human perspective, thought, evolution, choice and decisions affect, causing division. We aimed for creative expressions that herald and showcase love as the medicine to healing divisions, promoting unity and building a better world where lives and communities can transform and co-exist.&nbsp;The Contest instructions by the Founder were simple, essential and straightforward. It included;&nbsp;1. Duet Submission (2 people, &nbsp;a song and poetry combination).2. Fill out the form via the link on @yemipoet IC Bio on or before the 12th of February, 2025.3. Post your 90-second or less video from 5 pm 13th February to 5 pm 14th February 2025. Tag YemiPoet or #yemipoet #worldoflove and any hashtag of your choice.4. Join our Facebook Group Community: Yemipoet&nbsp;5. The theme of love was utilized to bring sanity, correction, healing, and unity to hearts by our seasoned poets. This was accomplished, allowing poets to project duet presentations of spoken word and song to bring out the Art in poetry and also encourage their inclusivity and creativity without boundaries, as well as recognising and rewarding poets whose works were outstanding&nbsp;Moral LessonThe reality and understanding of Love is what bridges the gap between us as Humans. It's the hallmark of maturity that determines the true measure of value perception.
